What bitrate should I choose?
Speech/lectures: 128 kbps is crystal clear and tiny. Mixed content: 192. Music you care about: 256–320. Remember MP3 can't exceed the quality already inside your video.
Why did my file fail to decode?
Some phones record in newer codecs (HEVC video with unusual audio) that desktop browsers may not decode. Re-export/share the clip once as standard MP4, or try Chrome on desktop, which has the widest codec support.
Will the MP3 have the video's title/artist tags?
The file is freshly encoded, so it gets a clean filename from your video but no embedded tags. Any music app lets you edit tags in seconds.
Can I use this on long lectures?
Yes — decoding and encoding show progress. Very long files (1–2 hours) use a lot of memory, so a desktop browser is recommended.
